Introduction (Flyer reader)
The flyer is a common means of marketing and advertising, but it has gradually lost its position in the competition with information-based advertising methods. The main purpose of the application "Flyer Reader" developed as part of this project is to restore the flyer's influence in the market and improve its appeal to people. In this project, Flyer Reader is mainly aimed at the catering industry.
Description of the application
Flyer Reader uses augmented reality technology as technical support and a mobile phone camera as an application device to obtain Flyer content and voice guidance by scanning Flyer images. Users can obtain the 3D model of the product by clicking the virtual button, which helps users better understand the appearance of the product. In addition, the user can also touch the button to make the product rotate, to help users get more product information. When the user's phone camera is pointed at the corresponding picture, the picture will emit a voice prompt to introduce the product information to the user. In addition, when the camera is pointed at the product, the user can click a button to get restaurant information such as its address and name.
Flyer Reader's features are designed to improve users' understanding of products and promote products and restaurants more effectively. Compared with traditional brochures, Flyer Reader provides consumers with higher interactivity and improves the appeal of the flyer to consumers through the help of voice and 3D models. Simple operation and interesting buttons can increase consumer interest in the restaurant, which will influence more consumers to pay attention to the product and the restaurant.
The Flyer Reader project uses mobile phones as AR technology application devices because mobile phones are currently one of society's most widely used information and communication tools. Compared to heavy VR equipment, AR technology can use lighter and cheaper equipment as the technology carrier. In the marketing industry, we should promote products through information technology equipment with wide impact, improving the scope of marketing. In addition, AR technology provides a more interesting way of publicity for the traditional marketing industry, which is conducive to promoting products.
Interaction Design
Product display: When customers get the promotional page of the restaurant, in addition to the picture of the product, they want to know the product's actual appearance. Therefore, it is necessary to display 3D models of products so that consumers can obtain product information more directly.
Product rotation display: To help consumers better understand the product, giving consumers a 360-degree product display is also necessary. Through more product interaction to attract more consumer interaction.
Voice prompt: Voice prompt can give consumers more direct product promotion, and consumers can improve their attention to flyers and interest in the product through the dual attraction of sound and image.
Text display: In addition to providing consumers with product display, consumers also need to understand the restaurant's information, so it is necessary to give consumers some necessary text description.
Turn off the display: Through a series of AR product displays, consumers can also turn off all features by pressing buttons, as some consumers may want to read some information from the flyer, and the 3D model may occlude part of the information, so turning off the button is also necessary.
Technical Development
Descriptions of 3D Models
Tofu meal: This model comes from one of the product flyer of a Japanese restaurant. When the user clicks the button, the mobile phone camera will capture the 3D model of the product, and the user can clearly understand the appearance of the product. The model includes a bowl and a piece of tofu.
